Cooking With Chefs Pietro & Brigitte ~ 1 Day





Santa Margherita, Portofino & Rapallo are cities along the Ligurian sea that offer food, wine and olive oil grown and produced from the fertile terrains and sea winds in this glorious part of Italy. Join us in the kitchen with husband and wife team, Chefs Brigitte and Pietro who will lead you in hands-on cooking classes in their professional kitchen. They will show you how to chop, sauté, boil and bake the treasured foods of the Cinque Terre region. With two kitchens, both in Rapallo and Santa Margherita, they take time and care in leading you through the preparation of an antipasto, pasta or risotto, main and dessert, while sharing their cooking techniques and history on the cuisine of Liguria.

Food lovers Brigitte and Pietro put their heart and soul in the class. Brigitte spends time in the morning market scouting out the best fruits, veggies, meat and fish to bring to class. Pietro loves to cook and eat as well, and adds his knowledge on food notes and wine. Everyone enjoys the cooking experience together at the table.

Pesto, olive oil and focaccia the foods of Liguria are just a sampling of what you will learn with Pietro and Brigitte. The fertile greens produce excellent quality nuts which go into the making of salsa di noci-a garlic, walnuts and cream sauce served with trofie-small twists, croxetti-coin shaped pasta. The plump and stuffed pasta, pansoti- stuffed with cheese; and tagliolini, are just a sample of the real local pasta in Liguria. Specialty fish like gamberoni, oversized pink shrimp from San Remo and pesto, and Cima alla Genovese, breasts of veal with eggs and vegetables, grilled lamb and wild mushrooms from the green hills are just a sampling.

After the cooking class enjoy the foods prepared in class together. Menus vary based on local seasonal ingredients and Pietro and Brigitte take special attention to accommodate each guest’s food allergies and diet needs.

Classes start at 10am and end at approximately 3pm.

Program Prices

$265 per person. Tax and Italian VAT included.

Transfers are available from the Train Station to the kitchen and return at 15E each way. Payable directly to the driver. Please book in advance.
