Start your day the ancient outdoor marketplace in the heart of Puglia-shopping for the ingredients for your cooking class to follow. Baskets of plump eggplant, tomatoes, assorted squash; artisan breads, fresh cheeses and seasonal produce of the area line the stalls, as farmers shout out their daily specials. Your guide will explain the foods of the region, while including a bit of history on the town, its cathedral, castle and Baroque church. Narrow streets in this historic center bring you back into time.
After the tour, head to the kitchen and tie on your apron for a traditional cooking class featuring the foods of the region. Your guide will translate each step as you begin your hands-on cooking class. This one-of-a-kind cooking class, with your host Letizia and Chef, features traditional recipes where you will make homemade breads & focaccia, soufflès, grilled vegetables, hand-rolled pasta-the famous cavatelli, roulades of veal in onion sauce and desserts-ricotta tart with pieces of plain chocolate or tiramisù. Following the class, everyone eats the foods prepared paired with great local wine. Buon Appetito!
