Cooking Classes

During your two cooking lessons in our Positano kitchen, you’ll meet our team of expert chefs who will soon have you creating a variety of delicious, local specialties made with seasonal ingredients: from mouthwatering antipasti and pasta dishes to main courses and fragrant lemon-scented desserts.

In each class alongside our Chefs, you will prepare an antipasto, main dish and dessert. Learn how to make hand-made gnocchi with a steamy tomato sauce and baked with creamy Mozzarella, or lemon Risotto, Insalata di Mare, a fisherman’s fresh catch of baby fish slowly sautéed, or Neapolitan Pizza Margherita, Foccacia and Calzone. And always desserts, Semifreddo, a caramel half-frozen ice cream topped with a raspberry sauce, Caprese, or Tiramisu. Learn to cook classic recipes of the Amalfi Coast that you will be able to recreate at home. Toast with a glass of local red or white wine and enjoy the view. End with a sweet dessert.

Rome

Truly a city that wears its history on its sleeve, Rome is a veritable open-air museum of monuments, architectural masterpieces and works of art. Every corner, every alleyway, every hidden piazza is home to a piece of history, and what is visible above ground is a mere drop in the ocean that is the world of Rome. While it is undeniably vibrant and hectic, it is always possible to find a quiet corner by heading down a narrow side street into a tiny piazza with quiet cafés and bars where you can sit and watch the world go by: groups of chattering children wandering home from school, local housewives out doing their daily shopping, old women heading off for morning mass. Rome is all of this and more.

Naples

Lying in the shadow of Mount Vesuvius is the vibrant city of Naples. Just two hours south of Rome, Naples sits magnificently on the northeastern coast of the Bay of Naples, one of the most beautiful bays in all of Italy and the most important harbor in Southern Italy. Naples is wonderfully full of history, rich with beautiful artistry and treasures, and narrow, winding streets that lend great character and life to the ancient city. In matters of food, Naples is the homeland of pizza and is taken very seriously. Seafood abounds in Naples and is prepared delicately and deliciously, infused with the passion and liveliness of the people. Neapolitan cuisine is the epitome of the Mediterranean diet.

Amalfi

The town of Amalfi is a little gem steeped in culture and history. Perched on the coastline, the town is dominated by Amalfi’s Cathedral and its main streets are lined with small shops and elegant bars. Merchants display their wares outside and nothing could be more pleasant than browsing through stalls of herbs and spices, jewelry, shoes, the beautiful handmade Amalfi paper, and local lemon specialties such lemon soap and lemon liqueurs. Suggested is a stop in at one of the oldest and most famous pastry makers in southern Italy- dating back to the 1800′s. A look inside reveals a sweet showcase of chocolate-drenched eggplant flavored with pine nuts, liqueur and orange; fragrant ricotta pear tarts; candied lemon and orange dragged in dark chocolate; or festive pastries of the day.  Whatever you decide to order, take a seat outside in the piazza at one of the small café tables that overlook the greatest people-watching site on the Coast.

Positano

Positano is a little Moorish-style village, discovered by American and British troops at the end of World War II. Opening onto the Tyrrhenian Sea, this small town has for years attracted a plethora of renowned artists and writers including the famous writer John Steinbeck. Positano’s narrow winding streets are lined with tiny cafés, terraces, and artisan shops selling ceramics, limoncello, antiques and the distinctive Positano-style handmade clothes.
