Cooking With Our Italian Family
Marie Lucia
Born and raised with Italian tradition and cooking skills like no other, my mom, Marie Lucia learned these authentic recipes from her mother, great grandmother and aunts who were from from Prata Sannita, Italy. Prata Sannita is a small village in Campania where the local women are noted for their prized baking skills. Marie Lucia has years of experience in cooking for her family, guests while in Italy, and baking for weddings and special events all around the world.
Lauren & Rino
Lauren, creator of Cooking Vacations, is a writer, cook, food lover and photographer, who shares her family recipes and traditions in each cooking class and tour. Using recipes that were passed down in her family from Rome and Campania, she leads cooking classes throughout all of Italy’s 20 regions.
Gennaro, nick-named Rino, is a true Italian who was born in Pompei. When he is not driving Cooking Vacations to landmarks and marketplaces, he is in the kitchen sharing his knowledge as a food lover. He learned the art of cooking from his grandmothers and mom, while studying wine in Italy at his grandfather’s vineyard and cantina in San Felice a Cancello. Rino adds his cooking skills and wine pairing know-how in every cooking class. Rino and Lauren are married and split their time between Italy and Boston.
