Scaloppine di Vitello al limone, or veal with lemon, is a traditional recipe originating from the region of Lombardy in northern Italy.  Using grass-fed, farm-raised veal and fresh lemons, this recipe pairs thin slices of veal scented with fresh organic lemons.  The recipe epitomizes the Italian culinary philosophy of using natural simple ingredients.

  1. Preparing

    Dip each slice of veal in flour and set aside.  In a large frying pan, add the butter and heat until melted.

  2. Cooking

    Add the floured veal slices and allow to cook until golden on one side, then turn over and allow to cook on the other side until golden. 

    Add the water and a pinch of salt, to taste.  Allow to cook another moment to evaporate a bit of the water.  Lastly, add the lemon juice.

  3. Serving

    Serve with a slice of lemon on the side to garnish.
