Dolce Vita Dessert Making in Roma

Tie on your aprons for a fun-filled dessert making class in the heart of Rome with Chef Barbara.  From creamy semifreddo, to refreshing seasonal sorbeto, and beloved tiramisù, each dessert is a masterpiece waiting to be created and tasted.  Chef Barbara shares her family recipes in this hands-on class, demonstrating how to make traditional desserts from her palazzo with rooftop terrace in the center of Rome.

Semifreddo

Learn to prepare semifreddo, translating to half frozen, which can be made with rich dark chocolate, hazelnuts or fresh seasonal peaches and lemons in summer or vanilla and cinnamon in winter. A traditional classic, this dolce is made with fresh cream, sugar, and farm-fresh egg yolks. Its delicate, creamy consistency is the perfect ending to an Italian lunch or dinner. Each spoonful captures the beauty and simplicity of Italy’s culinary artistry in true Italian style.

Sorbeto

Discover Italian sorbeto made with the season’s freshest fruits – from summertime Sfusato lemons, strawberries, peaches or watermelon to winter’s raisins, figs and orange, pumpkin or pomegranates.  Each season brims with flavors and possibility for making sorbeto, guided by Chef Barbara.  She will lead you in a dolce vita dessert making experience in the heart of Rome.

Tiramisù

Tiramisù, literally meaning “pull me up,” is an espresso-soaked cake made with ladyfingers dipped in espresso then layered between creamy mascarpone and cocoa powder.  Follow Chef Barbara as she shares her secrets for making this perfect confection in her professional home kitchen.

Whether you’re a seasoned cook or just a beginner, this class is designed to bring out the Italian chef in everyone!  Following the dessert making class, everyone enjoys the three desserts at Chef Barbara’s table with coffee, tea or wine. Enjoying your fresh-made desserts from her beautiful rooftop terrace overlooking Rome, while enjoying conversation, is a unique experience you will never forget!!!
